Money With Antecedence
How to create a Fintech that anticipates the receiving of money for companies.
Context
One of the biggest pains of business has is maintaining a healthy cash flow. In Brazil, 23% of companies have money for three months of operation and 56% for six months. I was asked to create a Fintech that helps solve this problem through a digital product where companies upload their invoices. The service anticipates the money by charging a fee for each transition.
To understand this scenario was necessary to understand the business and how companies manage their revenues. Hence was essential to conduct in-depth interviews with companies in different segments. In the research, we found that the way to manage depends on the company's size, which would result in the complexity that the digital product would have. Together with the stakeholders, we decided to serve small and medium-sized companies.

My role
This project was responsible for the entire design process.
I was doing in-depth interviews, business and competitor analysis, strategic product planning. And in the hands-on step, I did all the information architecture, interaction design, and the product UI.

Approach
Initially, it was necessary to assess the viability of the business, if there was a pain, and if it would be possible to solve that. Thereunto, I interviewed 40 users divided into three groups based on the size of the companies. Thereby, it was possible to understand the types of users and consolidated their roles into personas.
In the research, the type of company segment does not interfere with how companies organize themselves financially but the company's size. Large companies work in a much more structured way than small ones, reflecting more complexity in the product. Together with the stakeholders, we decided to have a lean effect focused on small and medium-sized companies.
It was noted in the survey that smaller companies do not have a financial organization. One of the product's goals was to help these companies be healthier by showing future cash flows and communicating the best way to manage their receivables.
It was necessary to structure the product, do all interaction design, UI and evaluate the product with usability tests. We seek to focus the product on the primary function, uploading invoices and receiving this money. Users were surprised at how easy it was to do the process wherein a few minutes of interaction, and it was possible to obtain a good amount of money.
Today, more than 50 million dollars are handled on the platform. Companies that use SBCrédito use the product as a cash flow strategy and put the digital service fee in their budgets.

Outcomes
This project has been generating good results and is on the way to a series B seed.
