Health With Simplicity

How to care without barriers.

Context

Porto Seguro, one of the largest insurance companies in Brazil, is the first in the ranking of the best service providers. The company was looking to improve its healthcare app. They needed a solution that was simple and straightforward for problem-solving. When we talk about health, you want the application to help you and not create barriers.

They were suffering from this, and users could not do simple tasks, such as scheduling a medical appointment or knowing where to go in case of an emergency.

My role

They had an aggressive delivery date goal. As a first step, I proposed to make a design sprint dynamic to define the new path involving all stakeholders. As a result, we reduced the size of the documentation and had quick approvals.

My role was to mediate the whole dynamics of design sprint and co-creation within the client. After finishing the first step, I did the product specification.

Approach

Before starting the dynamic, it is necessary to plan it. I asked for all strategy material and interviews with users that they had. I compiled the material to do the unboxing on Monday to have the strategic path of the app.

Monday

The day came, I did all the unboxing of the project and started to mediate the dynamics. Our goal was to have a strategic view of the product, we need to have a long-term goal. That is why we mapped the points of contact of the users, generating solutions for each problem encountered.

We arrived at a synthesis of what we wanted to "take care of without barriers". Everything that was bureaucratic would be reviewed. We were ready to define the solutions.

Tuesday

The solutions found are the time to draw them. I helped the participants in the flow of actions, sketches, storyboards of user interactions for each solution. My goal was to constantly remind participants of strategic thinking to maintain the line of definition.

Wednesday

Voting day for solutions, it was important that they were technically feasible and what business impact it would have. We made a backlog of the solutions prioritizing the delivery dates.

Thursday

Designer's day shine, prototype day of the app in high fidelity, we made the main flow of scheduling a medical appointment and looking for an emergency network. I ended up getting hands-on to help the team build some screens.

Friday

Day of applying usability tests,  we learn what worked.

With the definition approved, now it was only necessary to make the screens of all the flows of solutions raised.

The Final Product

My role was to mediate the design of the sprint and lead the team to do all the UIs, flows, and interactions of the application.
